Rembe's Birthday Party and Weekend Festivities

Cannot believe how long it has been since I posted, but honestly, I do not want to get to trivial with this and really want to just keep friends and family interested in what everyone is up to here. We sure have been having some weird weather, one day it is very hot and then the next day or two it is cool. But I will take these southern cold fronts any day to the northern cold fronts!
Patti and Dave came down from Charlotte to spend the holiday weekend with us and to help celebrate Rembe's 2nd birthday party. We all had a great time, the weather was absolutely beautiful for all the weekend festivities.
Aidan had his kindergarten program on May 22 and all of the children did a wonderful job.
Emma had her preschool graduation on Friday, May 23. They even wore a cap and gown, not sure how I feel about that! I am only glad that Aidan did not have to do that for kindergarten as well.
He did go through that protocol last year for his preschool graduation and honestly, how many times are these kids gonna put on the caps and gowns? Personally, I feel that high school and college is enough. Not that these little ones are not just the cutest in their caps and gowns!!!!

Aidan has a Luella Lions T-shirt on that all the children had
to wear for the program.

Celebrating no more homework, no more
books, no more Nana-Da babysitting us, no
more teacher's ........................
"Oh wait, we live with Mommy and she IS A Teacher!!"

Rembe loves Curious George these days. She IS Curious George, afraid of nothing and wants to know about everything. She goes and goes and goes, kinda like the Energizer Bunny! Today she decided that she preferred the footbath tub for the pool rather than the pool.

What young lady does not like chalking on the
sidewalk or driveway? None of course!!!

Andy, Nakea and Kyler came down too and Kyler had a blast at the party!

Mother's Day 2008

We enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day with Kim, Josh, Heather, Josh, Rembe, Aidan, Emma and Audrey. The children all had a wonderful time swimming in our "pool" and going down the water slide. The girls and their families are such a wonderful blessing and they bring so much love and joy to our lives. Watching their families interact when we are all together brings back so many memories of years ago when Kim and Heather were youngsters. How we would get together with other family members and they would interact with their cousins and Harvey and I with our siblings from both our families. It makes us realize how the years have raced by!
I always remember something Harvey's mother said once when everyone was taking pictures at one of the family get togethers, she said, "I have my camera in my mind and heart and always have the pictures there to remember." And as I recollect, she did have quite a memory, so I am sure that she had volumes of photographs in her heart.
The day started out a little cool, but around noon it warmed up very nicely, but it was very, very windy. Aidan and Emma had a blast on the slide, Audrey and Rembe were not too sure about it this year, last year when they were both only one, they enjoyed it, they seemed real apprehensive this time around and wanted no part of it yesterday.
Watching Audrey and Emma together is a real treat. They are very competitive with each other, especially when it comes to the baby stroller and grocery cart! Ummm, that also brings back some memories! Audrey is quiet and is very content to play with all the baby dolls. Rembe embraces life and literally runs with it.

Kyler's Haircut! ! !

Kyler came down for a playdate with his cousins. WOW! Kyler had his hair cut since we saw him last. Oh, he looks just like a little man now. As you can see in the picture below, Rembe is admiring his new look. We all think he looks wonderful with his new look! He is so sweet.
