Emma gets her ears pierced Saturday 9/20/08

Emma announced that she was ready to get her ears pierced on Friday afternoon. Kim and I told her that Saturday morning we would spend getting her ears done and then we would have lunch together. (Are you all catching a pattern here......we sure love to have our lunches out - don't we).
Well, Kim advised me that Emma had awoke at 6:30 on Saturday morning and was ready to go and get her ears done. Emma did not seem to understand that the store did not open until 10:00 a.m. But, she was patient. She did really well, she never shed a tear and was quite the trooper for both ears, one at a time, (some places shoot both at once).
Here she is:

Aquarium Trip

Heather, Rembe, Kim, Aidan, Emma, Audrey, Barbara, Kyler and myself all enjoyed a wonderful morning at the Atlanta Aquarium. The children always love seeing all the different fish and the beluga whales are absolutely beautiful to watch. The different colored coral reef had the children's attention, the colors were so bold and bright. We were not able to visit the penquins or the seals due to their habitat being under reconstruction. Also, in 2010 they are going to be adding dolphins to the aquarium. We enjoyed the leisure walking, viewing and even playing in a little playground exhibit they have. It really is a wonderful place to take the children as they really loved seeing all the small, medium and large fish up close and personal. After our fun time at the aquarium, we went across the street and enjoyed a 50's style lunch at Johnny Rockets. It was a blast from the past for both the Nanna's!

Here are the pictures of the wonderful participants! Emma, Rembe, Kyler 1st;
Audrey 2nd; Kyler 3rd; Aidan 4th; Rembe 5th and a beluga whale 6th

Yikes!!! My computer crashed.

My desktop computer crashed sometime during the night on Wednesday. I went to check something on that computer and it was dead.....all black. I tried to recover, but it would not let me. Anyway, my most recent photographs from the last 6 weeks or so are gone. I usually back them up on a CD in a few weeks, but I had not gotten to that yet. I am glad that I did at least put some of the reunion pics on here and our little trip to the zoo. I am going to see if I can't find someone to at least try to recover my photos for me before I get rid of it.
Thank goodness I have my laptop to fall back on. Some family members are passing a rumor that someone probably gave me a virus because they did not like my political views, which I will not express here. Also, I am trying very hard to keep a low profile on my political musings. I will admit, that this is one of the toughest elections that we have had in a very, very long time and leave it at that.
We are all doing well here. This coming week Sept. 15-19 is Fall Break and the children and Kim have no school. We are planning a trip to the aquarium one day and I should have some photos for that trip to post. That is all for now.

To the Atlanta Zoo on August 20

Heather, Rembe, Barbara, Kyler, Audrey and myself went to the Zoo and had a wonderful time.
As it turned out, we actually had a guide with Rembe. Rembe and Mommy have been to the zoo so many times (since it is not far from their house), Rembe knows which direction to lead you once you tell her what you want to see. The first thing we saw as we walked into the zoo was the flimingo's habitat. Well, as soon as Kyler spotted those he hollered "FLAMINGO's" and off he ran to them! He loves to watch them. We had to spend a few minutes with them again when we left for the day. We saw the panda bears, which have since grown in number to 3 because LinLin had a baby last week. Believe it or not, when they are born they are only about as big as a cell phone, no hair, all pink; then they grow at this tremendous rate in the first year. We saw baby lions, baby gorillas (one of which entertained us by beating his chest!), lots of other animals too and then after lunch, we took a train ride to end the visit. We all enjoyed it very much.
