Swimming in "Our Pool"

Had everyone over today for a cookout, in spite of the on and off again rain showers over the past few days. It was a good time to be together, Harvey barbecued yummy hamburgers and it is always FUN to watch the children interact with each other.

Heather and Josh have lost the baby they were expecting. She went for her monthly check up on Wednesday and there was no heart beat. She had surgery on Thursday. The last few days have been difficult and Rembe is truly a blessing for them at this time. They are doing as well as can be expected. It is during these very difficult losses that we need the comfort of our faith and know that God has His hand in all of this. We may not understand why, but our faith will hold us steadfast and we know He stands beside us.

For those of you who may not know, our "pool" is our hot tub. You know, if you turn the thermostat down as low as you can, it works! It might be a small pool, but the children love it.

Beautiful Day at the Park

We finally are enjoying warmer weather again, hopefully all of the cold snaps have ended. Actually had to cover the vegetable garden a couple of nights because of freeze warnings. But, that should all be behind us now!
Emma, Audrey and myself went up to Aunt BB's today to visit her and Kyler. We had lunch and went to the park near her house in Lilburn and fed the ducks and then the children played on the playground. The sun felt good and the afternoon was fun.

How full is your pitcher right now?

This is an excerpt from an article that my brother, the Rev. Dr. Dana Knapp wrote for The Presbytery of Scioto Valley newsletter. I found it very appropriate for my life and wanted to share it with you all.

How full is your pitcher right now? Half full? Near empty? When has it been overflowing? What was going on in your life that brought you to that point? Was it at the high point in your life like, the time you became a Christian, or the birth of a child, or the time you found your church home. Perhaps it might have been during a low point, some tragedy, that God became a real presence to you. Psalm 23, which I now understand as a song of evangelism, declares how sharing ones' faith can happen at both extremes in life. The psalmist sings of God's presence when all is well, such as when God provides the soothing waters and green pastures and leads him on the path of righteousness. Yet the psalmist also rejoices in God's presence in the valley of death's shadows and when his enemies surround him. Even then God is so present that the psalmist's cup is overflowing.

Whatever, the occasion God is always present in our lives, we only have to open our hearts and listen.

Amish Dress Up 4-11-2008

Today since Heather came down with Rembe and Kimberly was over here with the children, I suggested it would be a good time to dress the girls in the Amish dresses that Aunt Liz had given each of them. Well, Emma was very excited, she loves to wear those Amish dresses. Aunt Katie and Liz had given her a couple a few months ago and she likes to wear them around the house! Rembe and Audrey were alright with changing into the dresses, but when it came time for the caps, forget it. We tried real hard to try and get at least one picture of them in the outfits, including the cap, but did not have much luck. Good thing they were not born Amish!!!! Audrey got very upset and would hardly let us snap any pictures, Rembe was enjoying the dress and just running all over the yard, so we had to try and convince her to stay in one place long enough for the photo. We have lots of photos with them in their dresses and aprons, but that is about it. All the time Emma is standing there like a good little Amish girl with her hand folded in front of her waiting for her sister and her cousin to join her for the photo shoot! It was hilarious to say the least!!

Braves Opening Day

We were fortunate enough to take Aidan and Emma to the Braves Opener last week. Here is a picture of the event. We had a very nice time, Emma was ready to leave after about3-4 innings (it was a cool evening) so we did. Aidan was not very happy about it and all the way out of the stadium he kept looking back at her and telling her how mad he was at here. Well, once we actually got out of the stadium Aidan ran up to Emma, and together they walked with us back to the car, talking and laughing and having a good time. We did have a fun time, the hot dogs were delicious!! The Braves lost, but hey, we got the whole season ahead of us yet!

Rembe

Hello everyone. I am very new at this, but very excited. I have been looking at other blog sites and thought "why not?" So here goes. My Nanas Covers, http://www.nanascovers.com business is going fairly well. I truly do enjoy the time and effort that I get to put into it. Audrey at 10 months is in one of my cart covers, of course whenever Audrey or Rembe is shopping with me, they are sitting in one of my cart covers. Rembe, is modeling one of my pant outfits. Both will be turning 2 very shortly, Rembe in May and Audrey in July. Aha, I need not fear at this time for another baby model, Heather is expecting and we should have another baby in October.
We are having spring break here this week, so I get to spend a little more time with Aidan, with him in kindergarten this year, we have not been seeing him as much as the girls. Needless to say these sweet darlings are the center of Harvey' and my life.
Aidan is just starting baseball for this year. He was fortunate enough to be on the same team as he was last year and he enjoys it very much. Today Emma, Aidan and Harvey started to work on their annual vegetable garden. We are looking forward to an abundant summer!!!
